The winter shelter is a night shelter for the homeless for a consecutive period of 4 months. This winter, the winter shelter will be open from December 1, 2022 to April 1, 2023.
It is a shelter for the vulnerable homeless people who sleep outside in the winter months and cannot arrange shelter themselves.
You can report at Jan van Galenstraat 323, entrance B. This is possible from Monday to Friday between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
At the reporting location, an employee of the GGD will ask you a number of questions to investigate whether you are allowed to use the winter shelter. The employee will tell you which reception location you can go to. There are several shelter locations in the city.
The Winter Cold (Emergency) Shelter is available whenever it is really cold, or very windy. Please stay informed via the people and organisations you know, since this shelter is only opening up unconditionally if the weather conditions allow it to do so.

In case of vulnerability always contact the support organisations in the city for questions about shelter, or how to apply for 24hrs shelter.
