And for the people in the emergency shelter: if you sleep ONE NIGHT somewhere else, not in the shelter, you are NOT allowed in anymore!

In response to the lockdown the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport stated to shelter homeless people in the Netherlands. This emergency (night) shelter will go on until 18 May in the morning or as long as the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport gives instructions to shelter the homeless (plus 2 week max. time to work towards a sustainable solution).
During the day, homeless people can use the dayshelter facilities in the city.
How to register for the Night Shelter
If you are a rejected asylum seeker and not from a safe country, and you don’t have a Dublinclaim, you can always go to Loket Ongedocumenteerden if you want to register for shelter of the municipality. Houtmankade 334, opening hours Monday – Thursday from 10.00 – 12.00.
Homeless people can register at the GGD, Jan van Galenstraat 323 Entrance B and will have a screening interview with a GGD employee. Opening hours are from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Please note: the GGD talks about ‘Regiobinding’. If you were based far away from Amsterdam they can say that you have to look for shelter in your area. They will NOT accept undocumented people anymore, unless there is a ‘Winterkouderegeling’ (winter cold regulation).
