Emergency Night Shelter

EMERGENCY SHELTER (lockdown covid 19)

Wednesday evening December 16, 2020 the emergency night shelter will be open for homeless people in Amsterdam. This is in response to the lockdown and instructions given by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The emergency (night) shelter will go on – not officially stated yet – until 15 March (the duration of the measures) or as long as the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport gives instructions to shelter the homeless.

During the day, homeless people can use the dayshelter facilities in the city.

How to register for the Night Shelter
Homeless people can register at the GGD, Jan van Galenstraat 323 Entrance B and will have a screening interview with a GGD employee. Opening hours are from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

People can stay in the night shelter locations from 4:30 PM to 10:30 AM the next morning.
